A paedophile who encouraged a teenage girl to self harm and even etch his name in the skin of her neck has been jailed.<\/p>\n

Kai Edmundson, 18, lured in his vulnerable victim through\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0sites including Telegram, Discord and\u00a0WhatsApp<\/a>\u00a0before abusing her over a four-month period.<\/p>\n

He then sent the girl, from\u00a0Derbyshire<\/a>, up to five indecent pictures, while demanding she send photos and clips of herself undressing and committing lewd acts.<\/p>\n

Edmundson also signposted the teenager to a website full of indecent images of children, some aged as young as four.<\/p>\n

The sexual offender from Oswaldthistle,\u00a0Lancashire<\/a>, told his victim to refer to him as a \u2018disgusting paedophile\u2019 and expressed his desire to commit illegal acts.<\/p>\n

Screenshots of the pair\u2019s conversations on Discord showed Edmundson demanding the girl self harm and produce evidence of having done so, while encouraging her eating disorder.<\/p>\n

Officers also discovered evidence that Edmundson had made the 14-year-old etch his name into the skin of her neck.<\/p>\n

Edmundson ceased communication with the girl as of January 31, 2025.<\/p>\n

The paedophile was arrested on April 1 after police visited his home and found indecent pictures of children on his\u00a0phone<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He later pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court to charges of engaging in sexual communication with a child; causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity; encouraging or assisting serious self-harm; and possessing indecent images of children.<\/p>\n

On Friday Edmundson, now of no fixed address, was sentenced to five years and three months in custody.<\/p>\n

He is also subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and will appear on the sexual offenders register for life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
